Community engagement with the residents of the basin and the educational systems is a central pillar of Zippori Stream’s holistic restoration approach. The stream affects the people living around it; and they, in turn, have an impact on it. Strengthening the connection between the communities and the stream is key to sustainable restoration, rooted in commitment, belonging, and responsibility. Activities that promote environmental responsibility and connection are tailored for people of all ages, educational establishments and communities, and include learning, hands-on experience, and broad partnerships with organizations that promote the relationship between man and nature.

Local leaders are key to connecting residents with the stream and building a leadership network that strengthens personal and community resilience. Public Engagement

Public engagement is an essential part of the planning and implementation of the Zippori Stream restoration. Recognizing the close relationship between stream rehabilitation and the surrounding communities, residents and stakeholders are involved from the earliest stages of planning, execution, and long-term maintenance. This approach allows for the diverse needs to be addressed, strengthens a sense of belonging, and increases the likelihood of sustainable restoration.
