נצא ממבואת ראס עלי על שביל הבטון לכיוון צפון-מזרח, נחצה את נחל ציפורי על גשרון, ונמשיך על שביל הבטון (המסומן עכשיו בסימון שבילים ירוק), לאורך הגדה הימנית של הנחל כאשר מעלינו נמצא הכפר ראס עלי. אנחנו בפרסה, הולכים בלב עמק רחב המשובץ חלקות של חקלאות מסורתית/מקומית. כאשר שביל הבטון (והנחל) מתעקל דרומה נראה מולנו את טחנת עליל, אליה נעלה לאחר שנחצה את ערוץ הנחל על גשרון אל הגדה הימנית. מיד לאחר הגישרון נעזוב את שביל הבטון ונטפס לטחנה, ממנה הדרך קצרה אל המבואה ממנה התחלנו.
- Optional – Climb to the Tel Heli Lookout: Before the concrete path curves south, it meets a road going north (at the intersection of the paths there is a sign directing you to the Tel Heli Lookout). We climb the road until we reach another sign directing you to the path going west to Tel Heli, from which you can see the horseshoe in its entirety and the village of Ras Ali above it. The descent from the lookout back to the concrete path is a bit steep, and requires caution. (The route that includes this option is 3.7 km long and of medium difficulty)
